The Tatitlek Corporation Teams Up with Ride 2 Recovery
for an Alaska Bike Ride Event

Event Will Benefit 25 Veteran Servicemen and Women

ANCHORAGE, AK, March 20, 2013 – The Alaska Native Village Corporation, The Tatitlek Corporation, has announced its collaboration with the  non-profit group, Ride 2 Recovery, designed to bring 25 veteran servicemen and women to Anchorage to participate in a mountain bike event running June 24-28, 2013.

Participation in this Alaska-based event will allow these veterans to experience a sense of normalcy, accomplishment, pride, camaraderie and relief from depression and other issues that accompany recovery and rehabilitation.

R2R is an organization created by the Fitness Challenge Foundation in partnership with the Military and VA Volunteer Service Office, which seeks to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs for injured veterans and features cycling as the core activity. Funds raised by R2R support cycling programs at military and VA locations around the United States as well as support for equipment needed by the wounded servicemen and women participating in the event.

The Tatitlek Corporation was ranked #27 in Alaska Business Monthly’s Top 49er listing of the top revenue grossing Alaskan-owned businesses.

Increasing five spots from last year’s #32 ranking, The Tatitlek Corporation saw a 24% increase in revenue from 2011. This year marks the sixth year in a row of The Tatitlek Corporation’s ranking on the coveted Top 49er list.

Awards were presented Oct. 3, 2012 at the Dena’ina Center Top 49er luncheon. President and CEO Roy Totemoff and Chairman of the Board Lloyd Allen attended the event with Tatitlek employees and proudly accepted Tatitlek’s placement award plaque.

Through the corporate office and multiple subsidiaries, The Tatitlek Corporation employs over 100 individuals in Alaska and over 1,500 worldwide. Principal lines of business include military training support, foreign culture and language training, logistics services, simulations systems, construction facilities and equipment maintenance, installation support services and information technology.

Of the 49 companies recognized, 20 were Alaska Native Corporations. “Alaska Native Corporations are the mother lode of Alaskan-owned and operated businesses. At the end of July, The Tatitlek Corporation had a program review with representatives from the Program Manager Training Systems (PM TRASYS).  PM TRASYS handles the Marine Corps Systems Command's independent Program Manager assigned to provide services and products to support the United States Marine Corps training and training systems.  The U.S. Marine Corps is Tatitlek's largest client and the representatives were in town to provide feedback on TTC's performance on the various contracts being performed.  For more information about PM TRASYS click here to visit their website.

On June 21, 2011 four individuals from The Tatitlek Corporation traveled to Tatitlek Village for the afternoon with three members of the Small Business Administration. Roy Totemoff, Martin Hanofee, Angela Totemoff and Travis Vlasoff toured with the SBA’s Deputy Administrator Marie Johns, her assistant Marissa Lee and local SBA representative Sam Dickey.

This opportunity allowed The Tatitlek Corporation to display first-hand how our success has translated directly to affect many of our shareholders and descendants.
The brief visit consisted of a village tour, a visit to the Boulder Bay subsistence enhancement project, Culture Week slide show, shareholder benefits presentation and lunch with the entertainment of Tatitlek dancers.

This year Tim Crawley, Director of Business Development, attended the Jefferson Island Club Citizen of the Year Award Ceremony.  Each year the Jefferson Islands Club presents an award to an individual(s) who have distinguished themselves for their public service and contribution to the bipartisan spirit of America’s founding fathers.  This year, Senators Saxby Chambliss and Mark Warner, were recognized as the 2011 Citizens of the year.  Founded in 1931, The Jefferson Island Club has a long history of political involvement.  The purpose of the organization today is to promote bipartisanship in congress and conservation of the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.  Proceeds from this annual event help fund preservation of the lands.  Past recipients are always invited and frequently attend.  Past Citizens of the year include Lisa Murkowski, Ted Stevens, Mary Landrieu, Don Young, and George H.W.
